Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a scheduled coordinator to manage daily patient appointments for medical procedures. The role requires clear communication with physicians, office staff, and families to ensure timely, accurate scheduling in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include data collection, verifying demographics/insurance, and adhering to guidelines while maintaining high quality service and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in using computers with a high degree of accuracy.
• Successful completion of a course in medical terminology or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for medical procedures for the designated department and coordinate with doctors’ offices to resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate all aspects of procedure scheduling and ensure guidelines are followed.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information and enter it into the scheduling system.
• Monitor insurance authorization needs and schedule appointments with or without confirmed authorizations as required.
• Communicate clearly with doctors’ offices and parents regarding appointments and any special instructions.
• Utilize the scheduling system and electronic order management tools effectively.
• Assist in process improvements and participate in quality assurance for scheduled patients.
