Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduler for the Patient Access team. You will coordinate daily scheduling of patient appointments for medical procedures, interfacing with physicians, staff, and families to ensure accurate, timely scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include data collection, authorization coordination, and system data entry, with emphasis on effective communication and customer service to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical terminology or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in clinical scheduling or externship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for medical procedures for designated department.
• Coordinate all aspects of procedure scheduling and follow guidelines.
• Collect demographic/insurance information and enter accurately into scheduling system.
• Ensure insurance authorization needs are identified and addressed.
• Communicate clearly with doctors' offices and families about appointments.
• Assist in improving scheduling processes and perform QA on scheduled patients.
