Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support clinics in Minneapolis, Edina, Burnsville, Maplewood, and Brooklyn Park. The role, primarily based at two locations, involves coordinating patient scheduling, registrations, and information flow to ensure seamless access to services.

The position is 0.7 FTE with clinic hours from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, and requires coordinating across multiple departments and payer processes to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical training or an Associate degree required.
• 1-3 years of scheduling/clerical experience in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquires vital consent from patient for medical records and authorizations.
• Communicates with patient, staff and referring physician regarding authorization decisions.
• Schedules services such as tests, procedures, follow-up visits and other services per Doctor’s orders.
• Produces efficient and accurate schedules and reports.
• Records and updates schedule changes accurately.
• Monitors discharge status and coordinates discharge communication with referring physician.
• Answers multiple telephone lines and addresses caller needs quickly and thoroughly.
• Participates in department decision-making and coordinates patient schedules across areas.
