Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support patients, providers and staff by facilitating access to services, tests and procedures, and handling registration and scheduling tasks. You will coordinate flow of information, maintain accurate schedules, communicate with patients and referring physicians, and contribute to departmental decisions to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or vocational/technical training preferred.
• 1–3 years of related scheduling/clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquires vital consent for medical records and evaluations from payers.
• Communicates with patients, staff and physicians regarding authorization decisions.
• Schedules services such as tests, procedures, and follow-up visits from Doctor's orders.
• Produces efficient and accurate schedules and reports.
• Records and updates schedule changes accurately.
• Monitors discharge status and coordinates discharge communications.
• Answers multiple phone lines promptly to assist callers.
• Participates in department decisions, coordinating patient schedules across areas.
