Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System's Cape Fear Orthopedics & Sports Medicine - Ferncreek is seeking a clerical professional to pre-register patients, verify insurance, and schedule outpatient tests and procedures. You will communicate financial responsibilities clearly to patients and coordinate appointments for multiple modalities, ensuring smooth clinic flow.

Daily tasks include validating medical necessity, guiding patients through scheduling, and supporting with registration systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical terminology within one year.
• Experience with insurance/clerical tasks preferred in a hospital or medical office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to handle stress and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Receive orders and schedule outpatient appointments for all modalities (except biopsy).
• Coordinate add-on and same-day appointments and manage resources.
• Perform insurance eligibility/benefit verification and document in the system.
• Pre-register patients and inform them of financial responsibilities.
• Provide patient education during scheduling and send appointment confirmations.
