Job summary

Requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year in security or law enforcement (healthcare preferred), CT security officer license within 90 days, and First Aid/CPR-AED and CPI certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience (healthcare preferred).
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license and Licenses as a Security Officer within 90 days.
• First Aid, CPR‑AED and CPI certifications required.
• Good communication and organizational skills; ability to stay calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Evaluate threats and assist with de-escalation and emergency response.
• Document security events in Bristol Health’s Incident Reporting System.
• Monitor campus cameras, patrol buildings, grounds, and doors for security.
• Manage visitor access and issue visitor badges.
• Traffic control on grounds; security vehicle inspections.
• Locking and unlocking doors; raise/lower flags; lost and found processing.
