Job summary

Bristol Health is seeking Security Officers to join our Security team at the Bristol, CT campus. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors while coordinating with leadership and local law enforcement when needed.

The Security Officer will monitor cameras, conduct regular rounds, de-escalate incidents, and ensure proper notification to nursing supervisors and leadership. Requires attention to safety policies and calm decision-making in emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in security or law enforcement preferred (Healthcare).
• Valid CT security license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• First Aid, CPR-AED and CPI certifications required for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Evaluate threats; emergency response and de-escalation as per policy.
• Document safety events in Bristol Health Incident Reporting System.
• Monitor campus security cameras and perform rounds; report issues to security or police.
• Control visitor access and issue badges; enforce parking policies and procedures.
• Assist with communications and dispatching as needed.
• Lock and unlock doors and perform security vehicle inspections.
