Job summary

Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital is seeking a Patient Safety Specialist to support the Sr. Manager of Patient Safety, Risk in coordinating hospital-wide patient safety initiatives and day-to-day activities at Salem Hospital.

The role requires collaboration with department chairs, staff, and leadership; you will help analyze adverse events, prepare for regulatory visits, and promote non-punitive reporting and error prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, or related field.
• 1-2 years experience with computer and Internet.
• Healthcare experience with clinical background preferred.
• Experience working in a large healthcare organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Department Chairs and Patient Care Services to facilitate internal medical peer review and analyze serious patient concerns.
• Analyze adverse events and prepare for regulatory or accreditation visits; maintain confidentiality of peer review and risk information.
• Recommend corrective actions to reduce risk with CRICO and hospital improvement teams.
• Review and develop hospital policies related to patient safety.
• Identify barriers to implementing the improvement plan and develop strategies with hospital leaders.
