Job summary

University of Miami Health System seeks a Full-Time Patient Safety Observer to supervise at-risk patients in a hospital setting. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and report behaviors affecting patient safety to nursing staff.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, assisting with activities of daily living, aiding in meals and mobility, and supporting discharge logistics. AHA BLS and at least 1 year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' rooms for admission and orient them to room and amenities.
• Assist with dressing, personal care, and activities of daily living.
• Support meal preparation and assist with feeding as needed.
• Aid in positioning, turning, and ambulation of patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist in discharge processes and transport patients to lobby area.
• Follow infection control, OSHA, AHCA regulations and isolation guidelines.
