Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient care technician to provide direct observation and assist with patient safety under the Nurse Manager and RN. You will answer call lights, restock supplies, transport patients, and participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or near completion of Health Sciences program), BLS certification within 3 months, and de-escalation training during orientation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or near completion of Health Sciences program.
• BLS current certification within 3 months of hire; de-escalation training during orientation.
• Ability to observe patients, answer call lights, and document care per RN direction.

Responsibilities

• Direct and continuous observation of patient under supervision.
• Participate in patient rounding as directed by the RN.
• Ensure environmental safety and transport patients as needed.
• Restock supplies and respond to equipment and supply needs.
• Communicate changes in patient behavior to the RN.
• Perform duties in compliance with safety rules and hospital policies.
