Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Safety Sitter to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on direct observation of patients with behavioral changes, maintaining safety, and engaging patients in diversional activities to support care plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or in progress.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct observation of patients with behavioral changes under RN direction.
• Maintain a safe environment and engage patients in diversional activities.
• Report changes in patient behavior to the nurse promptly.
• Observe and redirect patients; apply suitable interventions as needed.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and promote patient confidentiality.
