Job summary

ephraimmcdowell is seeking a Patient Safety & High Reliability Specialist to advance a system-wide safety framework across the care continuum. The role bridges governance with bedside, ambulatory, and operational support, directing proactive risk mitigation and reactive event management to reduce serious safety events.

The specialist leads interprofessional clinical leadership and collaborates with medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and security to embed Just Culture and psychological safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of leadership and/or clinical experience in a complex hospital or health system.
• Knowledge of CIHQ accreditation standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Directs enterprise safety plan and accreditation readiness.
• Operationalize High Reliability Organization principles.
• Lead safety event management, cause analysis, and harm reduction.
• Oversee Workplace Violence Prevention Program; promote Just Culture and psychological safety.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders on safety education, policy, and standardization.
