HCA Healthcare's Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC is hiring Patient Safety Attendants (PSA) for full-time night and day shifts. As a PSA you support patient safety and comfort during vulnerable times, working with a caregiving team to protect patients from harm.

Responsibilities include supervising high-risk patients, maintaining a safe, clean environment, assisting with ADLs, and coordinating with nurses to ensure smooth unit operation.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Prior healthcare and/or direct patient care experience helpful. Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keeping a close watch over patients at high risk for falls or self-harm, staying alert and ready to act while helping them feel secure and supported.
• Helping maintain a safe, clutter-free environment by following safety protocols, infection prevention practices, and keeping rooms stocked and organized.
• Reporting any changes in patient behavior or condition promptly and partnering with the nursing care team to respond quickly.
• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) like eating, bathing, grooming, and getting comfortable to promote dignity and comfort.
• Supporting the nursing team with tasks such as transporting patients, delivering supplies, and helping the unit run smoothly.

Multiple positions available. Available shifts are full-time nights and full-time days. Full time is 3 12-hour shifts per week and requires working rotating weekends where you work at least one shift every other weekend (between Friday night through Sunday night).
