Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC is hiring a Hospital Unit Secretary to join the Critical Care Unit. The shift is 7a–7p, three days a week with rotating weekends, delivering organized, compassionate support to patients, families, and care teams.

You will manage patient records, coordinate physician orders, and maintain clear communication across departments to keep the unit running smoothly. Excellent attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED

Responsibilities

• Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported
• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork
