Job summary

SouthCoast Health is seeking a Full-Time Patient Representative for our Eye Care Department to be the first and last point of contact for patients and their families, delivering a welcoming, professional experience that reflects the quality of care we provide.

As a front-line team member, you will greet patients, provide directions, monitor schedules, collect co-pays and manage check-in/check-out, while safeguarding confidentiality and adhering to clinic protocols and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience, healthcare preferred.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency with computer systems and office software.
• Knowledge of customer service best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
• Provide clear directions, information, and assistance as needed.
• Monitor physician schedules and communicate wait times to patients.
• Collect co-pays and manage patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy standards.
• Follow clinic protocols and notify appropriate personnel during emergencies.
