Job summary

Mission Hospital McDowell, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Part-Time Patient Registrar to join our registration team. You will interview patients, collect account information and verify insurance at our front desk and bedside as needed.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and adherence to admission policies. Schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings; prior healthcare experience is preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bed-side to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure necessary signatures for treatment.
• Process patient charts according to workflow and productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients and relatives for demographic and insurance information.
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately.
• Verify benefits and status and initiate authorization when required.
