Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registration Representative to handle accurate check-in/admissions and patient registration in the hospital or ED setting. You will verify demographics, collect insurance data, create or update accounts, obtain signatures, and assist patients with self-registration and co-pay collection.

Great emphasis is placed on patient safety, adherence to QA standards, and timely processing of registrations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• HFMA Certification preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively; basic computer/keyboard skills; intermediate math.
• Good written and verbal communication; proper phone etiquette.
• Experience with scheduling systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Check-in/admissions/registration of incoming patients in hospital/ED.
• Verify demographics, collect insurance data, create/update accounts, obtain signatures.
• Assist patients with self-registration and collect co-payments.
• Ensure patient safety per positive ID protocols and required consents.
• May assist with Medicaid applications; in-person duties require walking to patients.
