Job summary

Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a Registration Representative for the PD/Days shift. The role involves completing patient registrations, verifying demographics and insurance, and posting payments in Epic to ensure accurate billing.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years medical office experience, knowledge of insurance payors, and bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese).

Qualifications

• 1–2 years medical office/admitting/registration experience preferred.
• General knowledge of insurance payors (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal).
• Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese).
• General computer skills including EMR and MS Office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Adhere to department policy of using two patient identifiers.
• Avoid HIPAA violations by correct MRN and timely registrations in Epic.
• Ensure all registration forms are complete, signed, and scanned.
• Provide excellent customer service using Simply Better and AIDET principles.
• Collect and post payments; drop payments in the safe or cash drawer.
• Maintain registration accuracy rate of 95% or better.
• Monitor and manage work queues.
• PBX: answer calls timely and route appropriately; follow alarm paging protocols.
• Be punctual and present at work.
• Follow policies and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Interact positively and constructively.
• Prioritize and multitask.
