Job summary

Salinas Valley Health is seeking a Registration Clerk in the Registration department to interview patients, collect demographics and financial data, and accurately register inpatients and outpatients. You will process initial paperwork, identify payors, and ensure data integrity in the hospital computer system.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and about one year of data entry and medical office experience. Pay ranges are provided with shift differentials for evenings and nights.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families in a courteous, professional manner.
• Interviews patients or representatives to obtain demographics and financial data.
• Enters demographic and insurance information into the hospital system.
• Obtains required signatures and insurance cards.
• Prepares paperwork for charts and medical records.
• Determines primary and secondary payors and enters data.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
