Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center is seeking an administrative registrations clerk to manage patient registration and financial obligations. You will collect demographic, billing, and insurance information and enter it into registration and billing systems, explaining insurance and payment options to patients.

Responsibilities include coordinating pre-certifications, providing consent forms, collecting deposits, preparing patient armbands, balancing receipts, and scheduling visits according to hospital

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand written and verbal communication.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of reporting unsafe conditions and hospital procedures as required.
• Ability to understand medical insurance requirements for payment and coverage.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic/billing/insurance information and enter into registration/billing systems; explain insurance and hospital procedures to patients.
• Complete managed care responsibilities such as pre-certification and authorizations.
• Prepare consent forms and obtain electronic signatures for treatment and financial obligations.
• Collect deposits, co-payments, deductibles, and patient liability payments; provide receipts and document in systems.
• Prepare patient armband for identification.
• Balance daily receipts and cash drawer; follow up on system flags as needed.
• Initiate screenings and gather information for coverage; complete required paperwork.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patients per hospital workflows; verify order completeness against scheduled service.
