Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking a Patient Registration Float Pool team member to deliver world-class service by guiding patients through admissions and coordinating with departments across multiple locations. The role requires flexibility to cover evening and overnight shifts and travel among facilities in the Northern Virginia area.

The position emphasizes accurate insurance verification, registration workflows, and exceptional customer service to support patient access and revenue cycle

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2 years in healthcare patient access or 2 years in customer service.
• 2 years of registration or healthcare revenue cycle experience.
• 6 months of outpatient registration.
• 6 months of ED registration.

Responsibilities

• Supports scheduling undertakings by conducting pre-service activities such as insurance verification and submission.
• Troubleshoots individual admission issues in collaboration with other departments and/or team members.
• Explains insurance benefits and patient liability by using appropriate communication methods/styles.
• Identifies and communicates payroll authorization and referral requirements.
• Manages assigned work queues to ensure that errors are corrected.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
