Behavioral Health Group (BHG) in Michigan is seeking a Patient Registration Coordinator to greet patients, verify identification and insurance, and manage patient accounts in a fast-paced clinic setting. Reporting to the Program Director or Office Manager, this role involves coordinating admissions, coordinating with physicians, and handling daily accounting tasks.

As a front-desk representative, you will perform copays, deductibles, and coinsurance collections while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience as a general office clerk with basic math, accounting skills, and cash handling experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in front desk, admissions, billing, and/or collections.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Accurate data entry and basic keyboarding skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to enforce fee collection policies.
• Basic computer/word processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist all individuals entering the treatment center.
• Verify patient identification and program participation.
• Inform patients and staff about financial status and collect fees.
• Verify insurance eligibility and authorization; communicate status to patients.
• Perform weekly and monthly insurance eligibility checks and prepare reports.
• Handle admissions and discharges in Central Registry and submit required reports.
• Schedule patient appointments with the physician and manage intake processes.
• Maintain chart monitoring system and assist with census forms.
• Maintain and order office supplies and perform general clerical tasks.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements and accrediting agencies.
