Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System in Rome, OH is seeking a Patient Registration Clerk (FLOAT) to obtain necessary information from patients and complete accurate registrations for patient care, billing and regulatory requirements using the Epic system.

Under supervision, you will enter information for 50+ data fields, follow scripting, provide courteous service in person, by phone or email, collect payments, and help meet productivity and quality goals.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the manager or designee, the Patient Registration Clerk (FLOAT) is responsible for obtaining required information from patients in order to complete an accurate registration for the use in patient care, billing and all regulatory requirements and documenting all information into correct area within the Epic registration system.

Under the direct supervision of the manager or designee, the Patient Registration Clerk (FLOAT) is responsible for obtaining required information from patients in order to complete an accurate registration for the use in patient care, billing and all regulatory requirements and documenting all information into correct area within the Epic registration system.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurately obtaining and entering information for 50+ data fields.
• Use pre-determined interviewing techniques and scripting when obtaining information from patients and/or patient representatives, in person or via phone.
• Must demonstrate positive customer service, even at the most difficult of times both face to face, phone and via email.
• Understand, explain, and accurately complete required facility forms before obtaining and witnessing patient signatures
• Responsible for payment collection activities, including handling cash.
• Meets or exceeds productivity and quality goals.
• May be assigned to work edits/errors out of designated work queue’s or reports.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• Prior healthcare registration experience
• 1 year of medical office, hospital or medical insurance related experience
