Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcomes on-site patients
• Secures billing and testing information (DOB, address, insurance, ABN, Medicare/Medicaid)
• Deciphers doctor orders and ensures completeness
• May take physician or office phone orders
• Complies with HIPAA and privacy laws; may sort and route mail
• May process payments for services
• May use Medi-Cal machines or online eligibility, adding machines, credit card machines
• Performs clerical duties (filing, typing, photocopying, collating)
• Follows HIPAA and Compliance guidelines; supports QA/QI for the lab
• May require weekends, split shifts, and holidays as needed
