Job summary

Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Patient Registrar to ensure timely and accurate patient registration, interview patients for account information, and verify insurance coverage.

You will interview patients, collect demographic and insurance data, handle pre-certifications, explain pricing and policies, and support a smooth patient experience in a fast-paced setting with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Secure all signatures necessary for treatments and release of information.
• Process charts according to paperwork flow needs and productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients, relatives and/or other responsible individuals to obtain identifying and demographical information with insurance and financial information.
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status via online or other resources.
• Enter all information and authorization/referral numbers into the registration system.
• Explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of account.
