HCA Healthcare's MSO NTX Heart Surg Center Dallas is seeking a Patient Referral Specialist to handle physician, hospital and outpatient referrals, schedule patients, and obtain insurance authorization.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry in EMR, coordinating with offices, and ensuring timely referrals while maintaining privacy and HIPAA compliance; prior referral coordination experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of experience in referral coordination relating to insurance provider tier levels, insurance authorizations, and out of network procedures.
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with diagnostic and surgical service areas, physician offices and hospitals to ensure timeliness and accuracy when scheduling patient appointments, tests and procedures.
• Provides accurate patient information, including demographics and medical details for scheduled appointments.
• Determines insurance eligibility and authorization for visits; coordinates with authorization staff to ensure payor authorizations are obtained.
• Initiates EMR entries for demographics, referring physicians, and family information; obtains needed medical records.
