MSO – Houston Colorectal Surge is seeking a Patient Referral Specialist to manage physician, hospital, and outpatient referrals. You will schedule appointments, obtain insurance authorizations, and guide patient coverage to ensure accurate and timely care.

The role emphasizes EMR data entry, coordination with offices and payors, and ensuring privacy and HIPAA compliance. Full-time day shift with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of experience in referral coordination relating to insurance provider tier levels, insurance authorizations, and out of network procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments, tests and procedures with physicians offices and hospitals.
• Determines insurance eligibility and obtains required authorizations.
• Enters patient demographics and referral information into EMR and maintains accurate records.
• Communicates appointment details and prep instructions to patients while protecting privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintains weekly referral volume and status reports for leadership.
