SBMF is seeking a Customer Service Representative in Smyrna, GA to be the first point of contact for patients, providers, attorneys, and other requestors. You will handle medical record requests, billing questions, and general account inquiries via phone, email, and portal while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role also involves mail room duties, shipping records and imaging media, verifying identities, documenting interactions, and meeting quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and PHI handling.
• Ability to verify identity and process sensitive requests.

Responsabilités

• Answer inbound calls and respond to email/portal inquiries regarding medical records requests, order status, and billing.
• Verify caller identity and authorization before discussing or releasing protected health information.
• Provide callers with accurate status updates on records requests and explain the process, fees, and timelines.
• Document all interactions in the case management/CRM system.
• Route complex, escalated, or specialized inquiries to the appropriate department.
• Assist callers with completing authorization forms or correcting incomplete requests.
• Assist in the mail room preparing completed patient records and imaging media for outgoing mailing.
