Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring for a Patient Observation Assistant in Columbia, SC. Both full-time and part-time roles offer 12-hour shifts, with weekend availability. No prior experience required.

Starting pay is $18.00 per hour at the Prisma Health Richland Hospital location. These roles involve close patient monitoring under RN direction, with reports, safety checks, and rapid response to emergencies.

Qualifications

• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Remains at the bedside of the assigned patient at all times unless relieved by staff.
• Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance or exhibits dangerous behavior.
• Assists with keeping the patient’s room safe and orderly; accompanies patient for diagnostics.
