Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Patient Observation Assistant roles at UK Kings Daughters, 2201 Lexington Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101. Online applications accepted only.

This role provides visual and audible observation of assigned patients under supervision of a Registered Nurse, with rotating schedules and a fixed $15.00 per hour pay rate. Prior healthcare experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Takes initiative in compassionately rendering service or responding to needs.
• Remains at the bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Verbal redirects the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors.
• Escalates to assigned medical professionals when patient is in distress.
• Participates in identifying and reporting patient safety issues.
• Assists in keeping patient's room safe and orderly.
• Accompanies patient during diagnostic testing when required.
• Reports any potentially dangerous behavior or concerns to the nurse.
• Assists with hand-off of pertinent information at shift change.

Education
