Job summary

Crothall Healthcare is hiring a Patient Observation Assistant at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. This role supports RN staff by providing constant visual and audible monitoring of patients, documenting observations, and ensuring patient safety and comfort on assigned shifts.

Full-time and part-time schedules are available with day and night shifts. Prior healthcare and customer service experience are required; CPR/BLS certification within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient at all times unless relieved by staff.
• Redirects patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors.
• Assists in calming and reorienting patients as needed.
• Escalates to nurses or medical staff when patient distress is observed.
