Corewell Health in Dearborn is seeking a Patient Observation Aide to work under an RN, providing close patient observation and assisting with daily living activities in a safe, clean environment.

This part-time night shift includes 11:30 pm–7:30 am, with variable weekends; the role records data accurately and alerts the nurse to any untoward events while supporting overall patient care and safety.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Scope of work

The Patient Observation Aide, under the supervision of an RN, provides close observation of patients and assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Assists with activities of daily living, unless the patient needs are such that adverse health consequences are predictable. During a patient or environmental emergency, may serve as a runner or transport patients as directed. Accurately and legibly records data collected and notifies RN of any untoward events, i.e., behavioral changes, violent behavior, etc.
