Job summary

Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service and visits patients to introduce services.
• Obtains patient food preferences from patients and/or family members.
• Communicates patient food needs to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Ensures diet care orders are provided with appropriate menu selections.
• Maintains sanitation standards and adheres to cleaning schedules; completes assigned sanitation tasks.
• Inventories and restocks pantries, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Maintains temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Understands therapeutic diets using established protocols and seeks Dietitian assistance if needed.
• Assists clinical staff in meeting patients' basic nutrition needs.
