Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa in Waterloo is seeking a Nutrition Services Clerk to enhance patient and family satisfaction by collecting and recording food selections and ensuring meals align with prescribed diets.

You will collaborate with Clinical Nutrition and the IDT to meet patients' nutrition needs, deliver room service, and support a high standard of patient care within a rotating shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read, write and understand English; communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
• Basic math and ability to measure weights/volume.

Responsibilities

• Assists in ensuring patients receive foods according to prescribed diets.
• Maintains excellent customer relations and professional image.
• Offers appropriate food suggestions to meet patient needs/preference.
• Reports concerns to registered dietitians, nurse managers and team members.
• Inputs patient meal preferences/menu choices.
• Delivers room service trays and late trays within target delivery time.
