Job summary

HALO Diagnostics in Raleigh, NC seeks a Patient Navigator to support hereditary cancer genetic testing. The role includes phlebotomy, patient education, and care coordination across partner sites, with a focus on delivering a compassionate patient experience.

You will collect specimens, verify insurance, and assist with scheduling while maintaining HIPAA standards and clear documentation in the EMR. This full-time, in-person position offers stock options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified phlebotomist with strong venipuncture skills.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (front office or back office).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with diagnostic or genetic specimen collection.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if travel is required).

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through hereditary cancer genetic testing process from start to finish.
• Provide education on testing procedures and next steps.
• Serve as primary patient contact to ensure supportive experience.
• Conduct structured patient consultations for clarity and accuracy.
• Coordinate scheduling, specimen collection, and follow-up with patients and partners.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/EHR systems.
• Support insurance verification and authorization processes as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate data entry.
