An established healthcare provider seeks a compassionate Nurse Navigator to enhance patient experiences during endoscopy procedures. The Nurse Navigator reports to the Manager of Endoscopy Nursing and is responsible for coordinating patient care activities for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. Patient navigation involves assisting patients in accessing and navigating the healthcare system, overcoming barriers to quality care. The nurse navigator is a registered nurse who acts as a guide to help patients and their families through the healthcare process, serving as a point person during their endoscopy experience.
Basic Knowledge:
Graduate of a Baccalaureate School of Nursing preferred, with current RN license in Rhode Island or primary state of legal residence if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Must understand the Nurse Practice Act of Rhode Island and demonstrate specialized endoscopy knowledge for procedure-specific education and care coordination. Ability to provide care considering aging, human development, and cultural factors.
Experience:
One-year endoscopy nursing experience preferred. Skills in evaluating patients, planning and providing care, and monitoring treatment plans. Effective communication with diverse audiences. Strong assessment skills in physical and psychosocial health status.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Normal patient care setting with exposure to infectious diseases, safety precautions are followed.
Independent Action:
Work independently within departmental policies; escalate complex issues to the Director.

None.
