Job summary

Ascension in Nashville, TN invites applicants for a Cancer Registry role within the Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown facility. This full-time daytime position supports the Cancer Registry department, coordinating patient information and ensuring high-quality data entry and reporting.

Ideally, candidates will have credentials in life-saving care and a valid driver’s license, with strong communication and client-support skills to assist patients through their care journey.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified role preferred: BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Driver's license required or preferred

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Identifies potential clients, completes initial needs assessment, and maintains follow-up to ensure appropriate guidance to health services.


• Provides informal counseling, education, and social support to clients. Assists clients with utilizing available resources, including scheduling medical appointments, accompanying clients to appointments, and assisting with completion of medical program applications.


• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with external (referral sources and community agencies) and internal contacts (departmental team members).


• Maintains accurate client records by documenting all contacts, services provided, and outcomes in order to track all clients and services for future reference.
