Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Service, Dietetics, Nutrition or Management; Registered Dietitian within 6 months of hire.
• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
• ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team.
• Demonstrated highly effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience using word processing, advanced or complex spreadsheet and database applications, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications, as well as computerized tracking systems.
• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of patient meal services.
• Collaborate with nursing to meet patients’ needs and educate nursing staff.
• Lead patient meal areas and train in therapeutic diets.
• Coordinate with frontline caregivers to ensure diets follow provider orders.
• Implement clinical best practices to deliver care at appropriate cost.
• Provide value-based leadership to establish high-performing teams.
• Handle HR functions including hiring, training, mentoring, evaluation, and discipline.
• Ensure food safety standards and regulatory guidelines are met.
• Monitor quality and satisfaction scores and drive improvement plans.
• Communicate nutrition expertise with clinical teams.
• Work with the clinical team to address patient diet orders and concerns.
