Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Patient Meal Service Associate to deliver meals to patients, ensure diet orders match tray content, and act as a liaison between Nutrition and Food Service and nursing units. This on-site role uses the CBORD system to enter orders and maintain accuracy.

You will restock nourishment kitchens, record calorie counts, and help with nourishments between meals while upholding infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational school graduate preferred, some college preferred.
• 3-5 years of food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food service kitchens, including standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to read and understand English.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions quickly and act accordingly.
• Written and verbal communication with clarity and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently, completing assigned tasks safely and correctly with good time management.
• Follow through on instructions; customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate commitment to teamwork through flexibility and strong work ethic.
• Computer literacy, speed and accuracy, and the ability to learn new systems.
• Excellent organizational skills, including multi-tasking while maintaining service standards.
• Neat, professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals to patients in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
• Delivers the correct menu and diet inserts (diet compliant) to patients in a timely manner.
• Assists patients and/or family members in placing meal orders as needed.
• Enters meal orders into CBORD.
• Maintains nourishment kitchen stock sheets and restocks per par levels.
• Records calorie count information and gives to Dietary Call Center personnel.
• Acts as liaison between the Nutrition and Food Service Department, the patient and the nursing units.
• Keeps nourishment kitchens clean and organized.
• Communicates with nursing and Food Service staff information that can improve meal service.
