Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center - Food and Nutrition to assemble and deliver patient meals, stock and present food items, and assist with catering events. The role emphasizes adherence to diet guidelines, sanitation, and service excellence in a hospital setting.

Evening shifts are common with potential 06:00 start times to cover 28 hours weekly, including alternating holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of hospital food service operations.
• Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.
• Good communication and customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and email usage.

Responsibilities

• Assembles patient and mobile meal trays according to diet guidelines and productivity standards.
• Delivers patient meal trays to rooms and assists with cafeteria service.
• Operates cash register and completes daily cash reports as needed.
• Performs cleaning duties and sanitation in kitchen and cafeteria.
• Supports catering events and promotional days.
• Prepares snacks, beverages, sandwiches, and entrees per recipes and portions.
