Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a patient meal service associate to collect daily menu selections and deliver meals to patients. You will load trays, verify dietary restrictions, and adjust items as needed to ensure comfort and safety.

Strong customer service and teamwork are essential in this hospital setting. Under supervision, you will enter patient preferences into CBORD/EPIC systems, participate in daily rounds, and support a busy dietary services team while maintaining infection control

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and six months of full-time experience in food service or hospitality.
• Completion of NYC Health + Hospitals food service training within three months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient meal order selections and deliver meals to patients.
• Set up and load meal trays onto carts; inspect trays for allergens and dietary needs.
• Deliver trays to units, verify patient identity, and collect soiled trays for cleaning.
• Enter patient menu choices into handheld devices and record results in hospital systems.
• Assist with answering phones, updating changes in computer systems, and other tasks as needed.
