Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Food Services Assistant to support tray assembly for patients, simple food prep, serving and dishwashing in kitchen, patient tray line, or retail areas. You will transport carts, restock stations, and maintain sanitation per Serve Safe guidelines, while communicating hazards and following department policies.

This role requires teamwork and strong customer service in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a food service environment preferred.
• Food Handlers Permit from TXDSHS or ANSI-approved training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve simple food items as directed.
• Deliver trays to designated locations with accuracy and timeliness.
• Transport pantry supplies and maintain clean storage areas.
• Assist with tray-line setup and dish room duties as assigned.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures and report hazards.
