Job summary

Houston Methodist in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Dietary Clerk to support patient meal services. You will take diet orders, explain diets to patients, assemble trays, and enter selections into the departmental software, ensuring accurate menu information and timely service.

You will coordinate with unit staff and the Dietitian, resolve order discrepancies, and help maintain patient records and nutrition documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year experience in customer service, diet office, dietetic field or call center preferred.
• Food Handlers Permit required per TXDSHS/ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Explain meal ordering procedures to patients and collect orders.
• Communicate with Dietitian to clarify diet orders and ensure patient needs are met.
• Enter patient meal orders into the departmental software accurately.
• Assist in plating food items on patients' trays during peak times.
• Maintain and update patient menus and ensure diet orders are followed.
• Record and track patient preferences and nutrition information.
