Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• Able to speak, write and comprehend English.
• Basic math skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients for appropriateness for food selections.
• Assist patients and family with meal selections when indicated.
• Provides guidance to select foods that meet MNT orders; confirms orders and allergies.
• Communicates food intake issues to Clinical Nutrition Team and nursing.
• Assembles patient snacks and meals in compliance with diet orders and allergies.
• Delivers meals and snacks to patients; coordinates delivery with nursing.
• Uses dual identifiers when delivering trays and snacks.
• Ensures completeness and accuracy of tray; assists with tray setup.
• Practices clean in, clean out and maintains hygiene.
• Records intake and calories when ordered.
• Reports problems to Supervisor or Liaison.
• Stock and refill supplies for tray assembly areas.
• Practices safe food handling and temperature control.
• Processes Commissary orders to maintain stock levels.
• Assembles snacks in compliance with orders and allergies.
• Performs tray tracking and FIFO.
• Delivers meals and snacks to units independently.
