Job summary

Labcorp in Portland, OR is seeking a Patient Intake Representative to greet patients, manage registrations, and coordinate appointments. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, insurance verification, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The position offers standard business hours (some overtime and rotating Saturdays). A High School Diploma or GED is required, and prior patient-facing healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify insurance coverage and post payments to patient accounts.
  • Contact physician offices to confirm test orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote Labcorp patient services and provide information as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Patient Intake Rep to join our team in Portland, OR Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm overtime and rotating Saturdays may be required

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and greet patients upon appointment arrival
  • Ensure a welcoming environment for all patients and visitors
  • Assist patients with registration and check in procedures
  • Data entry of patient demographics and billing information
  • Verification of insurance coverage and collect/post payments to patient accounts
  • Call physician offices to confirm the accuracy of test orders
  • Monitor and log patient wait times on a regular basis
  • Notify the supervisor of any patient issues in a timely manner
  • Promote and provide information about LabCorp patient services
  • Manage office supplies to ensure proper inventory levels
  • Open and close the office when necessary
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more of patient facing healthcare experience
Additional Job Standards
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test

PIR’s may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
