Job summary

Labcorp at Good Samaritan in Portland, OR seeks a Phlebotomist to join our team. Rotating schedule 10:00PM - 7:30AM, Thursday-Saturday and Sunday-Wednesday with a week off. The role involves skilled specimen collection, data entry, and delivering excellent patient service.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen processing, and travel to additional sites as needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma and phlebotomy experience; certification may substitute experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of phlebotomy experience.
• 2+ years of inpatient phlebotomy experience.
• 6+ months of direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of phlebotomy experience
• 2 or more years of inpatient phlebotomy experience
• 6 or more months of direct patient care

Additional Job Standards

In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
