Job Summary

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Patient Intake & Registration Specialist to join the Division of Periodontology. The specialist will serve as an integral member of the patient‑focused care team in the Graduate Periodontology clinic, providing customer service and clerical support to patients, residents, and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients and gather all documentation related to the patient chart.
• Schedule appointments with patients and coordinate clinic and resident schedules.
• Train residents on office policies and procedures.
• Act as liaison between the clinic and the Patient Financial Services office.
• Lead the coordination and implementation of the electronic health records system.
• Provide general clerical support services in collaboration with other team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience using personal computers and Microsoft Office.
• Experience generating a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex within a dental or medical practice.
• Customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with Epic is preferred but not required.

Required Experience

Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug, alcohol screening. Ability to work primarily in an office environment, lift up to 25 pounds, and sustain periods of computer work.

Pay Range

$18.37 – $23.99 per hour (based on experience and education).

Location

Postle Hall (Room 0024).

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:30a.m. – 4:30p.m. (first shift, 40 hours per week).
