Job summary

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist to support safe and effective clinic operations through health and safety programs, record management, customer service, and day-to-day operational tasks.

You will manage health and safety records, incident tracking, audits, and risk management; coordinate onboarding for non-employees; process documents and inquiries; assist with licensing exams and patient care support; location

Responsibilities

  • keeps health and safety records, tracks incident reports and corrective actions, prepares compliance reports, and helps with audits, inspections, and risk management work.
  • manages multiple independent databases, including those for licensure, certification, occupational health, respiratory protection, and other record-keeping functions, to maintain the accuracy and currency of records within each database.
  • serves as a main contact for clinic administration communications.
  • processes documents and answers inquiries received through shared email accounts, phone messages, and other communication methods.
  • directs patient concerns, referrals, records requests, prescription requests, and other inquiries to the correct person and ensures follow-up occurs on time.
  • coordinates onboarding for clinical partners, faculty, and students who are not university employees.
  • assigns training, requests system access, processes ID badge requests, and collects required documents.
  • manages the review and update process for clinic operating procedures.
  • tracks due dates, monitors approvals, maintains review records, and posts approved updates.
  • provides customer service to patients, visitors, faculty, staff, and students.
  • supports meetings, training sessions, and workgroups and provides backup help for clinical supply and instrument management services.
  • helps with student licensing exams and performs other duties assigned to support patient care, clinic operations, and organizational goals.
