Job summary

North American Mental Health Services is seeking an Intake Coordinator to act as the primary liaison between patients and the assessing provider, ensuring patients are prepared for their initial assessment and smoothly transition into ongoing behavioral health services.

The role involves collecting documentation, coordinating scheduling, supporting medication-related needs, and facilitating onboarding through the care continuum in a primarily office-based environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of healthcare, behavioral health, patient access, scheduling, care coordination, or medical office experience preferred.
• Experience working with Electronic Health Records systems preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet pre-assessment coordination: contact patients to ensure documentation is complete.
• Assist with collecting and uploading information, insurance cards, IDs, consents, and other required docs.
• Review patient accounts for completeness in the EHR.
• Coordinate warm hand-offs between assessment and treatment teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with patient checkout and ensure future appointments are scheduled and understood.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
