Job summary

Cedar Valley Medical Specialists PC in Waterloo, IA seeks an LPN or CMA to join the Family Medicine Clinic as a Scheduling and Triage Nurse. You will manage calls, appointments, check-ins, and frontline patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates hold an active LPN license or Medical Assistant certification, BLS, Mandatory Reporter, and strong communication. EMR proficiency and medical terminology knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license or Medical Assistant Certification in the state of practice.
• BLS and Mandatory Reporter Certificates.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls
• Schedule patient appointments
• Check patients in, verify demographics and insurance data
• Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in providing care
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patients' conditions and document information accurately
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and self-care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment
• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling and maintaining records
